- 4 large watermelon pieces (about 1 cup each) approximately 1/2 a watermelon
- 1 cup Everclear
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice 3 limes, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cups water, 1/2 cup to 1 cup Watermelon Pucker
- 3 limes, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cups water
- In a glass container with a lid, combine the watermelon chunks and the Everclear
- Shake well. Combine the lime juice, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Stir constantly over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved (no need to bring it to a boil). Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside to cool. Fill the container halfway with simple syrup
- It should be let to rest in the refrigerator overnight or for up to 48 hours
- Empty the contents of the jar into a large mixing bowl and mash the watermelon with the back of a potato masher
- Drain mixture back into the jar 1/2 cup of the Watermelon Pucker should be added in. Shake it up and take a sip to determine whether the flavor is to your palate. If the Watermelon Pucker isn’t sweet enough or doesn’t have enough watermelon flavor, you may add more. Keep it in the freezer until you’re ready to eat it. Keep in mind that the jars should always have some headroom to allow for growth. Although the mixture should not completely freeze, it is better to err on the side of caution. Freeze for at least one night (or longer).

How to make easy, flavorful cocktail infusions at home (recipe)
Everclearhas long had a reputation as the liquor of choice for getting drunk because of its flammability and high proof. The manufacturer demonstrated how to transform the incredibly strong spirit into a softer and gentler ingredient to expertly constructed cocktails on Thursday (July 21) at Tales of the Cocktail. While participating in the Tales at the Hotel Monteleone “Meet the Makers” event on Thursday, Ted Kilgore of Planter’s House in St. Louis, Missouri, gave an infusion class. According to Kilgore, who works as a mixologist for Everclear, the neutral flavor of grain alcohol makes it perfect for extracting flavors, and the increased alcohol level of the spirit allows the extraction process to be completed more quickly.
- “A lot of them can be completed in a few of days,” he explained.
- Planter, who noted that some of the ones he’s done at Planter’s include one with saffron and golden raisins, as well as one with kaffir lime.
- Infusions have a different shelf life than other foods.
- Kilgore zests eight to ten lemons and adds them to a 750 ml bottle of Everclear, where the combination is allowed to soak for four to seven days before serving.
- You can find the complete recipe and procedure here.
- An infusion made in a one-to-one ratio of infusion to water and 190 percent Everclear will provide a 95-proof infusion.
- The fresh fruits, which have their own fluids, might have an impact on this.
He used the fact that most base spirits, such as gin, vodka, and rum, are roughly 80 proof as a guideline.
* Because various ingredients extract at varying rates, it is preferable to soak each ingredient separately and then combine to taste after filtering off the liquid.
Oversteeping will result in bitterness, therefore avoid doing so.
During the Tales of the Cocktail event, attendees were allowed to sample them and think about how they may utilize them in their own homes.

Apple Pie Moonshine
Anonymous Rather of using white sugar, I only use brown sugar, and instead of vodka, I use 151 spiced rum to make this cocktail. I also use a lot more cinnamon sticks (which I get from Sam’s Club since they are roughly half as long as regular cinnamon sticks) and place one in each 16 oz. mason jar that I use to make the recipe.
