Moonshine apple pie moonshine blends apple cider and juice with apple pie filling, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla to make an autumn cocktail that will become your new favorite fall booze to consume. My love language is the offering of alcoholic beverages as gifts.

My most recent moonshine innovation is an apple moonshine made with actual apples and vanilla tastes, which gives you the sensation that you are practically sipping apple pie while drinking it.

Apple Pie Moonshine Ingredients

Thanks to the combination of a gallon of apple cider and a gallon of apple juice in the recipe for apple pie moonshine, it produces a large amount of moonshine. Make sure you have a dozen quart jars ready to capture your apple pie moonshine before you start making it. Many of the apple pie moonshine recipes I saw didn’t involve any actual apples, which was disappointing. In each jar of my peach pie moonshine, there are genuine peaches within, which provides for a delightful, moonshine-soaked surprise at the bottom of each jar.

The addition of brown sugar to the concoction results in a moonshine that is even smoother on the palate.

How to Make Apple Pie Moonshine

Combine the apple pie filling, vanilla, and cinnamon sticks in a big stockpot or two smaller stockpots, depending on your preference. Pour the apple cider and apple juice over the top of the apples to cover them completely. Stir until everything is well-combined. The brown sugar should be added next. Continue to cook the fluids until they come to a rolling boil. When the mixture comes to a boil, remove it from the fire and allow it to cool to room temperature. Using a huge two-gallon drink container, I transfer the contents.

  • You don’t want the heat to denature the alcohol’s potency.
  • After the moonshine, add the vanilla vodka to finish it off.
  • Each jar of apples should be followed by a shot of moonshine.
  • This way, there will be a little space left over for the cinnamon stick or any leftovers that may be near the top of the jars.
  • Seal and ring the jars at the top with the seal and ring.
  • After that, I store them in a dark area of the garage for a few weeks to allow them to mature.

With a case or two of jars loaded with Apple Pie Moonshine on hand, you’ll never be short on hostess presents for the next gathering. The moonshine can be consumed directly from the jar or over ice with a splash of ginger ale.

Homemade Apple Pie Moonshine

Midnight Moon Moonshine was a discovery I made back in 2012. I purchased two jars of the Cherry, one for a gift and one for us. Allow me to state unequivocally that moonshine is a party in a jar! It’s possible that it generated a commotion or not! I immediately started tinkering and came up with my own recipe for Apple Pie Moonshine. In 2013, a couple of my girlfriends and I were sitting around my kitchen table (while the boys were outside playing cornhole), and let’s just say that more chuckles and mischief poured out of a jar of Apple Pie Moonshine than we could count.

The flavor of my homemade Apple Pie Moonshine was something I wanted to be less overpowering and more tasty and delightful when I decided to try my hand at creating it.

We would drink it more as a novelty than anything else (and shudder each time).

Honestly, the homemade Apple Pie Moonshine recipe I came up with is delicious! It’s smooth yet has a kick. It can sneak up on you.

Due to the fact that I do not have a still in my backyard… I use Evercleara as the foundation for this and all of my moonshine recipes, and it works flawlessly every single time! Why not prepare a batch of this delicious Apple Pie Moonshine, which is simple to produce and much easier to enjoy. Make some for yourself and some to share with others. That jar of this is sure to be a hit at the upcoming Chinese Auction or gift swap you may be attending. It’s a fantastic culinary gift idea! One quart-sized jar of the product I was purchasing cost around $26.00.

I started adding apple chunks to my recipes a couple of years ago to give them a little additional taste.

The apple pieces become extremely soft when the mixture has chilled, so I crush them into the liquid with a potato masher before straining the liquid into another saucepan before adding the Everclear. As I strain, I press down on the solids to ensure that they release all of their juice.

Tips on Making Apple Pie Moonshine

  • The higher the quality of your ingredients, the better the outcome. I prefer to use farm fresh apple cider when I can get it, as well as organic apple juice
  • I also like to add one or two Honeycrisppears to the recipe, which I chop into bits and cook with it. Mash them up afterward for added taste and to include little pieces of apple
  • You can experiment with the amount of sugar you use. The sweetness of apple cider, as well as the sweetness of apple juice, varies. When it comes to sweetness, the more alcohol you end up adding, the less sweet it will be. Do not add your alcohol until the combination has cooled (if you add it when the mixture is still hot, the alcohol will disperse a little)
  • Always taste and adjust the next day after the mixture has been allowed to chill. Increase the amount of alcohol to make it stronger, and increase the amount of apple cider if you think you’ve made it too powerful
  • I store this in the freezer. Keep in mind to allow a little headroom at the top of your containers/jars! Depending on how powerful your moonshine is made, it will either freeze, become slush or not freeze at all, depending on how long it has been in the freezer. If it does happen to freeze, it will defrost rather soon. It’s very refreshing to have a little slushy, mmmm
  • This, these, and this are some of my favorite jars to use for all of my moonshines and boozy recipes. If you like peaches, you’ll enjoy… Try my Fresh Peach Moonshine for a refreshing drink.

  • Bring the cider, juice, sugars, and apple chunks (if used) to a boil in a large pot, then add the spices and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes, slightly lowering the volume. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool fully
  • Once the mixture has reached room temperature, mash up the apples with a potato masher (if you want to include them) and filter the moonshine through cheesecloth. Add in the Everclear and give it a good swirl. I can’t always tell how powerful anything is until it’s been cold. Any additional Everclear or, if you feel the cider is too powerful, additional apple cider may be added at any time. A fresh cinnamon stick is placed in each container by me as a standard practice. This recipe will fill approximately 4-5 quart-sized mason jars. Store the moonshine in a cool garage or refrigerator to preserve its quality. Before you start pouring, give it a brief shake. Putting this in the freezer an hour or two before serving or going somewhere is a good idea for me. I serve it as shots in smapp shooter cups
  • It goes down well.

Stir in all of the spices and bring the mixture to a vigorous boil, decreasing the sugars and apple chunks if using, for a total of 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside. The mixture should be totally cooled when removed from the heat. Using a potato masher, mash up the apples (if you want to use them) and sieve the moonshine once it has cooled to room temperature. Remove from heat and mix in the Everclear. The strength of the drink is sometimes not apparent until it has been cooled.

Fresh cinnamon sticks are placed in each container on a regular basis by myself.

In a cool garage or refrigerator, store the moonshine; Before you pour, give it a brief shake.

Serving it as shots in a smapp shooter cup is my preference.

Apple Pie Moonshine

Published: by: and modified: by It is possible that this content contains affiliate links. You may prepare this apple pie moonshine for your holiday gatherings as a beverage, or you can give it away to your favorite people as a present. It has a flavor that is identical to apple pie and does not hold back on anything. This moonshine recipe simply gets better with time, which is the greatest part!

Is This Real Moonshine? What Is Moonshine?

This isn’t the illicit moonshine manufactured in bathtubs that you’re used to seeing on the news. High-proof distilled alcohol made “under the radar” is referred to as moonshine in slang. The term comes from the fact that it was generally created late at night in order to avoid being discovered by authorities. It’s really been allowed in the United States since 2010, and its definition is straightforward: it’s whiskey that hasn’t been matured. This recipe does not call for genuine moonshine, but rather Everclear, which is simpler to get by and has the same proof range as true moonshine.

Moonshine jars that have been properly sealed do not need to be kept in the refrigerated until they are ready to be used. Some folks even keep their moonshine in the freezer to keep it fresh. Easy Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe

This Apple Pie Moonshine is easy to drink while yet packing a punch! By combining high-proof grain liquor with ingredients such as apple cider, apple juice, cinnamon, and flavored vodka, you can create a cocktail that will keep you warm from the inside out all winter long. It’s also a fantastic dish to serve during holiday gatherings. This moonshine improves with age, as do many fine things in this world. I recommend cooking this at least two weeks before you want to consume it so that you can really appreciate the flavor.

  1. Just remember to take it gently since, despite the fact that it tastes sweet and comfortable, it is a powerful beverage!
  2. The addition of vanilla and caramel is a delectable surprise.
  3. This recipe makes a lot of moonshine, so make sure to use an extra-large stockpot or divide the ingredients between two big stockpots when you prepare this.
  4. This recipe yields just enough to store a few jars at home while also giving out many more as holiday gifts.

What kind of liquor goes into moonshine?

Moonshine is a type of whiskey that is manufactured at home and is not matured. According to the docuseries Moonshine on Discovery Channel, it is known for being illegally distilled and trafficked over state boundaries, among other things. The fact why moonshine is prohibited is owing to laws prohibiting the distillation of alcoholic beverages at home. In other words, when people talk about flavored moonshine, such as this Apple Pie Moonshine, they’re talking about a drink that’s produced using the closest thing you can purchase to true moonshine, which is a high-proof grain alcoholic beverage.

Any grain alcohol between 80 and 151 proof will work, or you may use the highest proof vodka you can locate to make this cocktail.

What You’ll Need

Using only a few simple ingredients, including three different types of alcohol, you can create this alcoholic apple pie cocktail. (See the printable recipe card for further information and measurements; scroll down to the bottom of this page.)

  • Making this tasty cocktail with three types of alcohol is simple, since it only requires a few simple components. Detailed instructions and measurements may be found on the printable recipe card (see below).

How to Make Apple Pie Moonshine

Making flavored moonshine is simple, but if you want the greatest flavor and the smoothest drink possible, start preparing it many weeks ahead of time.

Here’s a quick rundown of what happened: (For more information, see the printable recipe card in its entirety, which may be found below.)

  • Cook the non-alcohol items for a few minutes. In a large stockpot, combine all of the ingredients except the liquor and bring to a rolling boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool fully. Remove the cinnamon sticks and place the alcohol in the bowl. Stir in the grain alcohol and vodkas once the apple cider mixture has been allowed to cool fully before transferring to mason jars. Fill the mason jars halfway with fresh cinnamon sticks. Distribute the moonshine among the jars in a fair amount. Place lids on securely and store until ready to serve. The flavor of this moonshine is great shortly after it is prepared, but it is even better after it has mellowed for several weeks. As far as is practicable, store the jars in a cold, dry, and dark location for several weeks.

Tips for Success

If this is your first time producing moonshine, there are a few things you should bear in mind before getting started.

  • To ensure that the apple cider mixture is absolutely cold, set it aside. It is important not to add your alcohol until the mixture has cooled completely, as the alcohol will begin to disperse. Also, avoid adding the alcohol near an open flame or heat source. Alcohol, particularly grain alcohol, has a high flammability rating. Another reason to wait until the mixture has cooled fully before adding the alcohol is to avoid burning your fingers. Before opening, give it a good shake. The residue from the cinnamon stick may still be present, in which case simply shake the container before opening. It is possible to filter the liquid through cheesecloth if it is really bothersome to you. How to properly seal your canning jars. Because of the alcohol component, the jars do not require a tight vacuum seal as you would for other types of preserving or canning, but you should still apply a tight closure on them. The lid tops are boiled for a few minutes, then wiped dry and placed on top of the jar, which is my preferred method. To finish, add the ring and tighten it until it is “finger snug.” Without having to bother about boiling the jars, you may create a miniature vacuum-like seal with a heated lid, saving time and money. Make the necessary adjustments to the alcohol. You may modify the flavor of the moonshine after you’ve opened it to consume it by adding more alcohol to make it stronger or additional apple cider to make it softer. The sweetness of the apple cider and apple juice might vary depending on the variety. The amount of alcohol you use will determine how sweet the drink will be

Serving Suggestions

Allow for thorough cooling of the apple cider mixture. You should wait to add your alcohol until the mixture has cooled, otherwise the alcohol will disperse. You should also avoid adding the alcohol near an open flame or a high-temperature heat source. Inflammability is a major concern when it comes to alcohol, particularly grain liquor. The fact that the mixture must be entirely cold before adding the alcohol is even another justification for doing so. Before opening, give it a little shake.

  1. It is possible to strain the liquid through cheesecloth if it is really bothersome for you.
  2. However, a tight seal on the jars is still recommended..
  3. Tighten the ring with your fingers until it is “finger tight.” Without having to bother about boiling the jars, you may create a miniature vacuum-like seal by closing them with a hot lid.
  4. The flavor of moonshine may be altered after it has been opened for consumption by adding more alcohol to make it stronger or additional apple cider to make it mellower.
  5. More alcohol is added, and so the sweetness decreases.

How to Store

  • How long does moonshine keep its potency? The beautiful thing about creating moonshine is that it will keep for a long period of time in the bottle. Once opened, it will keep for up to 3 months at the back of the fridge before becoming stale. However, if it is not opened and stored in a cold, dry environment, it can survive up to three years. Is it necessary to keep moonshine refrigerated? Moonshine jars that have been opened should be refrigerated. Jars that have not been opened should not be refrigerated, but should be stored in a cool, dry location. Is it possible to freeze moonshine? Your moonshine may be stored in the freezer, that’s correct! When frozen, it has a shelf life of up to 2 years. Make sure to allow enough of headroom at the top of the jars since liquid expands when it’s stored in the freezer. If the drink is particularly powerful, it may freeze solid, turn into a slushy, or not freeze at all, depending on the temperature. In the event that it does freeze, it will thaw fast and it is quite great served chilled as a slushy.

Apple Brandy Advanced Recipe

This complex recipe that we devised requires the distillation of alcohol, which necessitates the acquisition of federal, state, and municipal permissions. When we tested this technique, we had a fuel alcohol permit in hand, and we were in full compliance with all applicable state and federal requirements. We produced, stored, and utilized this alcohol in line with the rules of the Therapeutic Goods Administration. In addition, we maintained and reported production records in compliance with the requirements of the TTB fuel alcohol authorization.

Brandy is the term used to describe distilled fruit wine, which is generally made from grapes.

This is the preferred method of the distillers.

Ingredients

  • 1 half bushel of ripe apples (about 25 pounds We used a mixed type of apples, which turned out to be a great combination
  • 5-10 pounds cane sugar (we discovered that adding 1-2 pounds per gallon of mash worked extremely well)
  • And After the apples have been juiced, add enough water to make a total volume of 5 gallons. We just followed the guidelines on the packaging and used 2.5 teaspoons yeast nutrient). We used 1/2 teaspoon per gallon for the kind we bought)
  • 1 packet dry wine yeast
  • And

Mashing Equipment

Gravity at the start is 1.065; gravity at the end is 1.000 8.5 percent by volume of wash alcohol; 40 percent by volume (80 proof) of spirit alcohol; Temperature and yeast conditions can affect fermentation time. Fermentation time is 7-14 days (although this might vary). 72F is the temperature at which the fermentation takes place.

Mashing And Fermentation Process

1. We harvested half a grove of apple trees. In order to make apple wine, it is essential to use more acidic and sour types of apples (Winesap, McIntosh, and Jonathans all work great) 2. Peeled and washed the apples. 3. Placed the apples in an apple grinder and pulsed them until they were a pulp. 4. Placed the mash bag in the apple press and turned it on. 5. Added the ground apples to the fruit press and turned on the machine. 6. I pressed the apples in a press. 7. Collect the apple juice in a bucket that has been thoroughly cleaned.

After all of the apples had been juiced, we poured the juice into the mash pot and mixed well.

I added 4 gallons of water to the mix (or enough to reach 5.5 gallons total volume).

Combine the apple juice and water in a large mixing bowl.

We took a gravity reading that was unique to us.

Our initial gravity was 1.01314, which was a 1.01314.

15.

The amount of sugar required to attain our starting gravity of 1.065 was discovered during our tests.

Everything was dependent on how much sugar was there in the apples.

After adding the 6 pounds of sugar, we performed another gravity reading and found that we were just at the objective of 1.065 grams.

The yield from this wine was 8.5 percent after it was fermented down to 1.00017 proof.

18.

19.

Add 2.5 teaspoons of yeast nutrient to the recipe for number 20.

21.

Depending on the yeast and the temperature at which we were fermenting, fermentation took anywhere from 7 to 10 days throughout our tests.
