When it comes to spicy meals, there’s a reason people in hot areas are drawn to them as well. From spicy salsas and moles in Mexico to jerk chicken and curries in the Caribbean, there’s a good explanation. When that heat touches your lips, it elevates your body temperature and causes you to sweat, which improves circulation and allows you to cope better with the weather conditions around you, according to the experts. A similar statement may be made about drinks. When sipped gently on a hot afternoon, a spicy beverage can actually be more refreshing than water.

All of this, plus the fact that they pair well with virtually any sort of booze, means it’s time to get lit!

Fill the shaker halfway with ice, then add the gin and shake firmly.

Before pouring the cocktail into your glass, place a couple slices of jalapeo, a cucumber slice, and a sprig of basil between the ice cubes in your glass for a more impressive-looking presentation.

In the case of cocktails, the same is true. When consumed slowly on a hot afternoon, a spicy beverage is really more refreshing. You may also substantially reduce the number of calories in your drink by using low-calorie peppers for fruit or mixers.

Strawberry Vodka – Homemade Infused Vodka for Drinks and Baking

Strawberry vodka is the liquid essence of strawberries in a distilled spirit form. This pink elixir is as gorgeous as it is tasty, and it is perfect for mixing into cocktails and fruit salads. I’m going to have to indulge my inner scientific nerd for a while here. Did you know that there are flavor chemicals in food that you definitely, completely cannot release until you slam them against the side of a bottle of booze? It’s the truth, after all. There are two factors contributing to this:

  • Intuitiveness: You know how you can smell whiskey or similar strong alcoholic beverage immediately after opening the bottle? Due to the rapid evaporation of alcohol, flavor essences are carried directly to your nose by the molecules of the alcohol. With its ability to bond with both fat and water, alcohol is the ideal vehicle for capturing every water-soluble flavour (basic salty, sweet and bitter flavors) as well as every fat-soluble flavor (aromatic flavors such as garlic, herbs, spices and other seasonings) in order to create one perfect umami bomb.

You just cannot obtain that kind of performance from any other source. You can’t really TASTE food unless you can smell it, because alcohol attaches to the scent receptors that are otherwise only dissolved in fat, making it unlike any other substance to properly TASTE food. In light of the foregoing, you’ll understand why I believe it’s critical that you experiment with Strawberry Vodka this summer. I THINK IT’S IMPORTANT! Why? Because strawberries are both sweet and fragrant (as shown in the geeky moments above), and you haven’t truly appreciated the full splendor of strawberries until you’ve smashed them with a shot of vodka in the face.

  1. Have we had this conversation about strawberries and basil before?
  2. Starting with strawberry basil shortcake stacks, to be precise.
  3. Do you see the trend I’m establishing here?
  5. After it has soaked, you may take a glance at the jar and realize that you have made a terrible mistake.
  6. But here’s the thing: they’ve transferred all of their brilliant crimson to the vodka, giving it a stunning deep pink tint in the process.
  7. Don’t be concerned.
  8. You catch a whiff of the most delicious strawberry perfume imaginable.
  9. If you’ve done your job correctly, it’s an undertone.
  10. It’s possible that after tasting it, you’ll find it a touch too robust for direct drinking.

That’s OK with me. This is intended to be used as a mixer or as an ingredient. So, what do you do with a quart jar full of spoiled strawberries and a bottle of enticing-smelling Strawberry Basil Infused Vodka? Make a cocktail, of course!

Uses for Strawberry Basil Infused Vodka

In fruit salads, use equal amounts of Grand Marnier or other liqueurs in lieu of the Grand Marnier. It’ll add a whole new depth of flavor to the gathering. Make your next strawberry pie even better by using a spoonful of sugar. It will significantly increase the strawberry quotient. Similarly, you may add a spoonful or two to your next batch of homemade ice cream. Of course, it adds flavor, but it also prevents the ice cream from becoming rock-hard when frozen. In order to make the ideal strawberry milkshake, add a spoonful or two (only for adults, of course).

It appears to be self-evident, doesn’t it?

Everyone who enjoys a good drink is invited!

Strawberry Vodka

You have complete control over how much you scale this up or down. Don’t feel obligated to purchase a full quart jar of vodka infused with herbs and spices. I believe you will find additional applications for it, but if you are concerned about the cost or quantity, please reduce it and begin with a pint! You are not required to use the best of the best vodka for this recipe, but you should avoid using the cheapest of the cheapest. Inquire with the clerk at your local liquor store about a mid-range vodka that is suitable for sipping or mixing in cocktails.

  1. Not only do they not have to be bone dry, but they also shouldn’t be dripping in any way.
  2. After washing, I prefer to allow them to air dry for 30 minutes in a colander or on kitchen towels on the counter.
  3. Is it going to be catastrophic if you forget?
  4. It is highly recommended that you strain the strawberries before using them in your recipe.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a 4-cup measure or a bowl (preferable one with a spout), then transfer it immediately to a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid to cool.
  6. When using alcohol, you don’t want to leave it out for too long because it evaporates quite rapidly, so you’ll want to move swiftly when using it.
  7. Speaking of storage choices, if you want this to continue to taste like fresh strawberries forever and ever amen, follow the straining instructions and put your strained, firmly sealed, infused vodka in the freezer for at least an hour before serving.

As an added bonus, it will keep well in the refrigerator for drinks and fruit salads.

Strawberry Basil Infused Vodka

Strawberry-forward fragrant taste with balanced overtones of sweet fresh basil is a hit with the ladies. This vodka is a big popularity in the summer! Nutmeg Nanny was the source of inspiration for this piece. Preparation time: 10 minutes Time allotted: 10 minutes Servings 10 Calories are contained inside this recipe. 104kcal

  • Fresh strawberries that have been washed, dried, and hulled
  • Fresh basil leaves that have been rinsed and dried
  • Good quality vodka

Also needed:

  • Cut the strawberries into pieces and place them in the jar, arranging the basil leaves in between the strawberry pieces to make a pretty display. Not to squash, but rather to fill it completely and to within 1/2-inch of the jar’s rim, you should use your hands to pack the strawberries in tightly. An important point to remember regarding the Basil: Add 2 big or 4 little basil leaves to a quart-sized mason jar. Add 1 big or 2 little basil leaves to make a pint of pesto. In a separate bowl, combine the vodka and water. Ensure that the lid is securely fastened to the jar and shake it violently 4 or 5 times. Allow the vodka to infuse for three days in a cool, dark location. Open the jar and take a smell… Does it have a strong strawberry scent to it? You’re all set! For up to a year, you may store it in an airtight container in a cold, dark spot where the temperature does not change too much. In order to ensure maximum flavor preservation, drain off the fruit and basil and place them in a freezer-safe container with a tight-fitting cover.

Blueberry Whiskey Buck

The ingredients for this delightful Blueberry Whiskey Buck are Tennessee whiskey, blueberries, lemon, and ginger beer. It’s chilly, sweet, and spicy, and it can be prepared in minutes. I’d like to introduce you to Drizly, an alcohol delivery service, which I recently discovered. As a result of our collaboration, we’re bringing you this fantastic Blueberry Whiskey Buck recipe. Drizly’s delivery service is available in the hills of West Virginia, and I wish I could say that I’ve used it, but they are not currently bringing delightful libations out here.

  • Many of you, in locations ranging from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles, may purchase wine, beer, liquor, and mixers through or their app, which will be delivered to your door.
  • Furthermore, there is no markup on the sale price!
  • As much as we would like to plan ahead of time, life is hectic.
  • I’m constantly running out of some critical cocktail component at the most inconvenient of times…like when the guests are about to arrive!
  • It’s the type of drink that doesn’t require any preparation in advance.
  • However, I decided to travel even further back in time with this Blueberry Whiskey Buck cocktail, which is a variation on the classic Moscow Mule cocktail.
  • There are several varieties, ranging from the Ginger Rodgers (which contains gin) to the El Diablo (with tequila).

In the same way that a square is a rectangle…you get the picture, don’t you?

I was delighted to discover this hidden gem.

This process filters the whiskey before it is aged, resulting in a smoother flavor due to the usage of charcoal chips.

The juice has a beautiful hue, and it is blueberry season, so it is very appropriate.

You’ll also need sugar, lemons, and plenty of ice for this recipe.

As you can see, this spontaneous, spur-of-the-moment night with friends is going to be fantastic!

The ingredients are simple, but you will need a muddler and a cocktail shaker to complete the task.

Because my mint had become sunburnt, this lemon balm came to my rescue.

Fortunately, it was planted in a shaded location, so it was able to withstand the scorching August sun.

After all, this is an unexpected gathering.

It was recently purchased at a yard sale.

On a serious note, I have a whole collection of glass dishes in every size and form under the sun.

Don’t scrimp on the ice this time.

In addition, be sure to use cocktail napkins because those blueberries are really vibrant in color!

Even though I believe everyone understands how to crush fruit, this movie is a wonderful how-to, as well as a cautionary tale on how not to muddle fruit in the first place.

What a breath of fresh air that appears to be.

And thank heavens for those flea market finds, like these glasses!

They are based on a 19th century pattern and are manually blown and sculpted with acanthus leaves.

Isn’t it amazing that they arrived with a genuine certificate of authenticity?

I believe I paid $6 for a package of four….

Seriously, I believe that everything in these photographs came from a thrift store, flea market, or yard sale…

There is a narrative behind each of these parts, and I believe that this contributes to the overall experience of sipping a superb cocktail.

Fruity blueberries, pungent ginger, and smooth sipping whiskey combine to make this a delicious cocktail. So, how’s it going for Thirsty Thursday? So make your way over to Drizly. Within an hour, you might be sipping on this refreshing drink!

  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • 1-2 ounces ginger beer

  • Lemon and sugar should be muddled together in a cocktail shaker. Blueberries should be added last and muddled until all of the blueberries are crushed. Pour in the whiskey, cover, and shake briskly until well combined. Prepare a rocks glass by filling it halfway with ice. Pour the drink over ice and serve. Finish with a splash of ginger beer and whatever garnishes you choose

Dan Weber and Kimm VanDen Heuvel, both 27 years old at the time of their departure, set off on an arduous adventure. Dan and Kimm were just starting out their relationship at the time, and they were both unsure of where their professional futures would lead them. During a post-volleyball league conversation with Kimm and pals, Dan expressed his desire to figure out how he might generate more income. Dan made a joke to a buddy about being able to manufacture moonshine. Then he learned he could brew moonshine with his own two hands!

  1. Dan set to work right away, crunching data, studying the market, and speaking with local municipal authorities about his concept and his plans.
  2. Things began to feel more genuine, and Kimm began devoting her time and energy to market research.
  3. To improve their business skills, the two enrolled in an Entrepreneurship course at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
  4. The distillery concept began to take form, but the pair needed to find a location to call their own for the distillery.
  5. It was all they had hoped for and more.
  6. In the next 22 days, the pair was married, and within the first week of their marriage, they were enlisted to help demolish and rebuild the inside of the railway station, with the purpose of returning it to its former 1901 splendor for the enjoyment of the public.

Dill Pickle Martini

To be honest, it was shockingly excellent! Those who enjoy pickles will appreciate this beverage. When I posted this with my followers, there was some disapproval, although this is not that unlike from the dirty martini in terms of taste. Definitely serve with a couple of pickle slices on the side.:) I made use of pickle slices that I had preserved at home. It’s something I’ll certainly eat again! My credo is: Don’t dismiss something until you’ve given it a go. More information can be found at

It’s a martini, don’t get me wrong.

Ciroc was the drink of choice for me.

That, in my opinion, would be ideal.

Instead of 1 to 4, try 1 to 2 as an alternative.
