Tailgating Essentials: Awesome Recipes For Moonshine Day

Moonshine was originally a transparent, white whiskey with a distinct flavor. However, during the Prohibition period, the phrase “moonshine” evolved to refer to any alcoholic beverage that was created illegally. Following the repeal of prohibition in 1933, the phrase “hard liquor” became widely used to refer to any alcoholic beverage made without government oversight. The traditional moonshine, on the other hand, has been revived by distillers all throughout the country. Since then, as more and more people realize how delicious moonshine is, the popularity of the beverage has grown exponentially.

Baseball Hall of Famer Chipper Jones serving up Sweet Tea Moonshine

Moonshine is one of the few drinks that can be considered really Southern, with the exception of perhaps sweet tea. A cooperation between Sugarlands Distilling and Chipper Jones, the former third baseman for the Atlanta Braves, has been formed. They have collaborated to create the finest new moonshine beverage. After 19 seasons in the major leagues, Baseball Hall of Famer Chipper Jones is now able to relax and enjoy watching games, especially the postseason, with his family and friends. When Chipper isn’t announcing games for ESPN, you can find him relaxing with his wife Taylor in their suburban Atlanta home in the evenings.

Jones has also gotten on board the homemade moonshine bandwagon, just like so many of us before him.

  1. “No one enjoys it more than me to settle down with a beverage at the end of the day, turn on a sporting event, and partake of a bit of the sacrament,” Jones remarked.

WHY SWEET TEA MOONSHINE FITS JONES’ SOUTHERN LIFESTYLE?

Jones, who was born and bred in the South and like sweet tea to begin with, could not have been more pleased with the sweet tea flavor. “It’s fantastic; it’s very nice,” said Jones, who grew up in the small Florida town of Pierson and has called Atlanta home since the Braves selected him with the first overall pick in the 1990 amateur draft. In addition to the fact that I am a huge fan of sweet tea, the fact that they offer so many different flavors was a no-brainer for me. So you can combine the tea with the lemonade or the peppermint or the peach to get that perfect sweet tea blend that you want.

My favorite Arnold Palmer drink is sweet tea and lemonade, and I enjoy both combined.

Where can you get Chipper Jones’ Sweet Tea Moonshine?

  1. In addition to being accessible in the downtown Gatlinburg distillery and local liquor stores, it is now available on the internet.
  2. After a two-year construction period, Sugarlands Distillery opened its doors in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains in March 2014.
  3. Sugarlands Distillery is officially the official moonshine of NASCAR.
  4. They make moonshine, whiskey, and liqueurs in a variety of tastes, totaling 29.
  5. Their moonshine is available in a variety of flavors, including Maple Bacon, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Butterscotch Gold, and Pina Colada.

To satisfy the needs of those who want to keep things simple, Sugarlands’ award-winning Roaming Man Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey is always available.

Cole Swindell, a country music performer, came before me.

  • “It’s also a fairly exciting opportunity.

Sugarlands Shine now available at Truist Park

Sugarlands Sports & Entertainment announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Jones’ old employer, the Atlanta Braves, shortly after announcing their connection with Jones. It is planned to open Sugarlands Distilling Company in Chipper’s Corner within Truist Park. There will be an enormous exhibit of Jones’ memorabilia in the cocktail lounge area, which will be placed near third base, where Jones patrolled for 19 seasons. There will also be a vast selection of moonshine, of course. Chipper’s Hot Corner Pub was originally scheduled to debut for the 2020 season, however the opening was postponed due to COVID regulations.

Does Jones Tailgate with Sugarlands Shine too?

Jones, who has been a full-time professional athlete for the whole of his adult life, has confessed that he has never been much of a tailgater. Either he’s been participating in the game, watching the game from a luxurious suite, or staying at home to avoid the throng, depending on his preference. But when LSU faced Oklahoma in the semifinals of the NCAA football playoffs in Atlanta last autumn, Jones had his first genuine experience of high-class tailgating. Jones was invited to an LSU tailgate at Mercedes-Benz Stadium by some Louisiana friends who were attending the game.

  • “I didn’t care about the tickets to the game;
  • I simply wanted to hang around outside and eat and drink.
  • ” I had a great time.

If LSU ever comes back to Athens or to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, you can bet I’ll be there.

Boudin.

  • Crawfish Etouffee, crawfish dip, and sausage like you’ve never seen before are all available.

Consider experimenting with some of these suggestions in honor of National Moonshine Day.

Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine has been assisting in the dissemination of the tastes of the American South throughout the United States and the rest of the world for the past five years. Moonshine, on the other hand, is a libation ritual that firm founder Joe Baker is well-versed in. After the state of Tennessee passed legislation allowing for the legal distillation of moonshine, Baker founded Ole Smoky in 2009. “I grew up in Eastern Tennessee, and my family has been here for over a couple hundred years, and moonshine has just been a part of our culture here and part of my family’s history,” said Baker, a criminal defense attorney who founded the company in 2009.

In the mountains, Baker’s family has been distilling moonshine for more than 200 years.

  • The ability to share goods that are important to our family with the rest of the world is also a huge plus.

While remaining true to its rustic roots, Ole Smoky can also be used for some fairly high-end cocktails, such as the Dolly (a cocktail made from equal parts Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine and ginger ale, plus a splash of lime juice, and garnished with two Ole Smoky Moonshine Cherries) and the Not So Cosmopolitan (two parts Ole Smoky White Lightnin’, three parts cranberry juice, half part triple sec, and lime).

While remaining As Baker explained it, “the notion or emblem of moonshine is often clear liquid contained in an airtight container, and definitely that is what my forefathers created here in the highlands, just corn liquor.” “And it’s the thing that I’m most proud of because it actually embodies the spirit of the United States.” Almost all of the tastes that make up our flavor profile are flavors that (would be recognizable to) someone who has lived in Appalachia for the past 50 or 60 years, according to our research.

The way I’ve always consumed moonshine has been in this manner.
